Appointments

  • All clinics are by appointment only
  • Appointments may be made by telephoning the surgery or online once you have registered for our online service

Please note; all telephone calls are recorded for security and training purposes.

Please note that the online registration process requires patients to present original ID documents IN PERSON at the surgery. In order to protect patients, this must be done by the patient themselves, so if a husband and wife want to register, then each needs to present their own documents in person.

We offer a mixture of pre-bookable and on the day appointments to try and meet the needs of our patients.

Appointments are:

  • Mostly for 10 minutes, with either doctor or nurse
  • Made by telephone, online if registered or by direct contact with our Patient Support Team

Please do not be upset if our Patient Support staff ask you to provide some details of the nature of your condition. This is to make sure that we offer you the most appropriate care.

Please remember that each appointment is for one person only. When booking your appointment, there is the right to express a preference of practitioner, however this may mean you have to wait longer to be seen.

If you require any communication support for your appointment pleas ensure the practice know in advance of your appointment so this can be arranged for you.

Chaperones are available.

Evening and weekend appointments are now available to be booked via reception and will be offered to all patients.

These appointments are usually at:

Cherry Tree Surgery, 132 Upper Commercial Street, Batley, WF17 5DH

Emergency Doctor on Duty

The surgery has an emergency doctor on duty throughout the day to offer patients urgent advice if needed.

Please note that this service is to be used for emergencies only. The emergency doctor cannot be used for repeat prescriptions or renewal of sick notes.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.  Appointments cancelled within an hour will result in a DNA on your records.
